bulletIn West Africa formation has begun for one novice and two candidates.
bulletIn Brazil our two novices from Brazil and one from Mexico continue their journey with us.
bulletIn the Philippines three novices (two local women and one from PNG) have begun their apostolic experience while another three (two from the Philippines and one from Fiji) follow closely behind. There are also two candidates from Fiji.
bulletIn Fiji there is one candidate and several pre-candidates.

bulletOn 12th September every year we celebrate the "Holy Name of Mary" which we have inherited as members of her family - Marists.
bulletBearing Mary's name sometimes requires courage. This month there are Marist sisters venturing into countries where we have no foundation but where young women are expressing a desire to join us - in the Pacific, Central America and Africa.

bulletThis is the first of four days chosen for special celebration during the Jeanne-Marie Chavoin Year.
bulletMarist Sisters across the world will gather to mark this day in prayer and festivities, recognising God's plan is choosing the Chavoins as Jeanne-Marie's family.

bulletA Special Year in honour of the Foundress of the Marist Sisters began on 30th June!
bulletAcross 19 countries the festivities took different forms - marking the anniversary of the death of Jeanne-Marie Chavoin, Mother St Joseph in 1858.
bulletCalendars, bookmarks and candle stickers have been distributed.
bulletThe first of ten themes for personal and communal reflection has been sent to each community.
bulletSpecial efforts are being made to encourage vocations to the Marist Sisters' way of life.

bulletA recent visit to Papua New Guinea indicated great interest in Marist religious life. 12 young women gathered to hear more.

bulletThree young women are to be received as novices on 8th September.
bulletA new novitiate house, the first for the Marist Sisters in the Philippines, is to be opened and blessed by the Bishop on 10th September.
bulletThere are also three candidates who will be continuing their formation in Davao.

bulletWest Africa celebrates a Final Profession
bulletAnother of our African sisters made profession for life recently in her home parish. The Regional Leader of the Marist Sisters of Eur-Africa was present together with a representative from the General Council. The ceremony was rich with African and Marist symbolism.

bulletAn International Renewal for Marist Sisters will take place in France this month.
bulletThe group will make a pilgrimage to Coutouvre, Belley (pictured at left) and Jarnosse, following the life of our foundress.
bulletIn addition, they will visit places sacred to the Marist Brothers, Fathers and Missionary Sisters.

           each Region is sub-divided into Sectors.

Region of Asia-Pacific

Sectors:   Aotearoa-New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Philippines.

Region of Atlantica

Sectors:  Brazil, Canada, Ireland,Mexico, United States of America, Venezuela.

Region of Eur-Africa

Sectors:  England, France, Italy, Ukraine, West Africa.
